The oldest son born to a humble Megam family, Forbes began his religious studies at a young age. His path in life was pretty much predestined, his parents having decided before he was even born he would enter the clergy. At first, Forbes was a bit disappointed as he wanted to be a knight or a merchant, but after his first few lessons, he became so enthralled with the study of religion that he quickly gave up on his original career plans.

At age 20, Forbes obtained his Chaplain's liscence and left Megam to travel for a while, helping those in need and searching for the woman of his dreams. Sadly, he only accomplished the former. Within four years' time, he'd had his heart broken more times than he could count. But he never gave up on love, always believing that someday he'd meet just the right woman.

He's also close friends with Elliot, the absent-minded sage. The two parted ways when Forbes went on the road while Elliot stayed behind as a light magic instructor, and were both quite pleased to be reunited by the magic journals.

Over the past year, he fell in love with his colleague Sister Freya, and for a time believed she felt the same way. However, when he decided the time was right to propose to her, she coldly rejected him, revealing she had felt nothing for him all along. Forbes is currently focused entirely on his work in hopes of putting his most recent heartbreak out of his mind.

Forbes is a sensitive soul, always willing to listen to the problems of others, no matter how trivial they are. His brand of honesty is very gentle-he doesn't sugar-coat things, but he would rather hurt himself than hurt someone's feelings. He likes to give good, solid advice that will lessen one's burdens in life even a little. He's very trusting and barely knows the meaning of the word "suspicious". He's also a hopeless romantic with dreams of finding that special woman to marry and share the rest of his life with.

Unfortunately, Forbes's trusting nature and weakness for women are his greatest downfalls, as he always seems to attract the wrong kind of girl. The fact that he hasn't given up after having his heart broken so many times is possibly one of the greatest wonders of the world...not to mention crazy, according to the people who know him best.

Forbes doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is practically incapable of anger, no matter how snarky or nasty someone is to him. The only time he truly gets angry is if someone commits a grave sin against humanity or an individual.

He's also very logical; if given a situation where there is no clear right or wrong answer, he thinks very carefully and will analyze the situation before giving his opinion. Despite being a proud follower of the Dragons of Light, he's well aware of the atrocities committed by other followers. He strongly disapproves of people who use religion as justification for crimes and other immoral behavior.

Forbes is tall and slender with long black hair and dark blue eyes. His skin is slightly paler than usual for someone from Megam, but not enough to cause any alarm, and his expression is always serene. He wears the traditional white robes of a priest, brown sandals, and a gold cross necklace given to him by his father. He wears a gray cloak over his robes when he travels.
